Diagnosis of innovation in the Podkarpackie Province in comparison to all of Poland and the European Union is the second annual report from a study serving to diagnose the level of innovation in the Podkarpackie Province which is carried out within a systematic monitoring and evaluation of the Regional Strategy for Innovation for the Podkarpackie Province.
The study makes it possible to gather not only verified, measurable data reflecting the level and changes in innovativeness of the province, but also provides a way to compare it to other provinces and regions of the European Union. The Province was classified as to its innovation in 2010 and the changes from 2009-2010.
The results showed a low position – 14 on a national scale. In comparison to one year ago this is an improvement however – the province has advanced one place. Ratings for most measures of innovation were however poor.
The situation among businesses was much better. Despite the poor conditions for innovation in 2010, the Podkarpackie ranks 2nd in the country. Their innovative activity was noted for the second year in a row by this high position among Polish businesses.
In the ranking in innovative activities the Podkarpackie in 2010, as in the previous year, ranked 6th. Once again it was ranked on an average level regarding the number of firms which have resources for the automation of production processes. However, in relative terms, employment of R&D staff, despite the increase from the previous year, remains at a low level in comparison to other provinces.
I invite you to read the entire report.
Respectfully,
